He writes:
In 1963 I was part of a United States Air Force survey team that was photo mapping PNG, the Torres Straits, and the northern coast of Australia for the Australian Government. I spent 4 months, mostly on Prince of Wales Island with frequent trips over to TI. It was an adventure of a life time.
In 2008 he contributed an article on his experiences to the Torres News. Link (pdf)
